Grays Thurrock Carnival.

Interest in the carnival has unfortunately been in decline now for many years  but these two pictures from the 6th June 1959 show how things used to be when people turned out in droves along the route to watch the procession finishing often, as in this particular year, on Blackshots Playing Field. People then went to the fair also held on the playing field.
