Orsett Union Workhouse.

Orsett had it's own transport from the village to Grays Station, Harding's Bus was a horse drawn bus established by Robert Harding at the turn of the 20th Century. 

Orsett Hospital Maternity Wing, Old and New.

 The Hospital was built on the same site as the workhouse, in 1890 the Hospital was extended with four more wards and another building added in 1900. The hospital was used in the First World War by The Red Cross and was incorporated in the Emergency Medical Services for both civilian and service personnel during The Second World War.

                    The Hospital was known as The Orsett Lodge Hospital until it became The Tilbury And Riverside Hospital (Orsett Branch) in 1950.
